Traders often search for a “weekend holding loophole” because they notice that one prop account must be flat on Friday while another account from the same company can remain open. A crypto market can trade through Saturday and Sunday while a forex account is closed. An evaluation can permit weekend positions while the funded or Master stage restricts them. Those differences can look like loopholes from the outside. In reality, the only safe exceptions are the ones written into the current account rules.

A legitimate exception is not a workaround. It is a permission attached to a specific account model, stage, asset class or product. If a firm says weekend holding is allowed during a challenge but temporarily disabled on the Master Account, the evaluation permission is real and the funded restriction is real. If a crypto plan operates 24/7 but a FOREX Instant plan prohibits weekend crypto, the market being open does not override the account contract. The trader should use the permission exactly as written rather than searching for technical ways around the restriction.

This 2026 guide maps the most important kinds of weekend exceptions: evaluation-stage permission, funded-stage restriction, instant-account differences, 24/7 crypto, instrument-specific availability, futures session rules, add-ons, temporary firm updates and automatic Friday closure. It also explains why an exemption from a compliance rule does not create an exemption from gap, spread, slippage or drawdown risk.

Quick answer: A prop-firm weekend “loophole” should never mean bypassing a restriction. Legitimate exceptions are written permissions tied to the exact account. In 2026, examples include weekend holding being allowed during certain evaluation stages, prohibited or temporarily restricted on funded/Master stages, allowed on some account products but not others, or available on a separate crypto plan. The trader must verify Firm + Account + Stage + Asset + Date before relying on any exception.

1. There Is No Safe Weekend Loophole: Only Written Exceptions

Why do traders use the word “loophole” for account differences?

Prop-firm rules are not standardized across the industry. One account may say positions must be flat before the weekly close. Another may allow holding but prohibit new weekend entries. A third can allow weekends during evaluation and restrict them after funding. When traders compare screenshots without the account names, the differences look inconsistent.

The inconsistency usually disappears once the product and stage are added. The rules are attached to contracts, not to one universal industry standard. A firm can deliberately design a flexible swing challenge and a stricter instant-funded product.

Calling that difference a loophole can create the wrong mindset. The trader begins looking for an enforcement weakness rather than reading the actual permission. A better phrase is “account-specific exception.”

The legitimate edge comes from choosing an account that fits the strategy, not from finding a technical way around a rule.

What separates a written exception from rule evasion?

A written exception is explicit. The firm says the account can hold over the weekend, a particular stage is exempt, or a product has another schedule. The trader can point to the current documentation and explain the behavior openly.

Rule evasion depends on exploiting ambiguity, latency, platform behavior or an enforcement gap to create exposure the policy was intended to prohibit. That is fragile and can conflict with broader prohibited-strategy clauses even when one narrow sentence seems unclear.

If the trader would be uncomfortable asking support, “Is this exact behavior allowed?” the strategy is already too dependent on interpretation.

The safest rule is simple: use only permissions that can be documented clearly.

Why should the exception be verified close to the weekend?

Weekend policies can change. A firm can introduce a temporary risk restriction because of market conditions, modify a funded-stage rule or launch a new account product with different permissions. A rule remembered from January may not control an account purchased in September.

Record a last-verified date. If the account is important to a swing strategy, check the official documentation before the first Friday and after any product update.

Do not rely on an affiliate review or old community post when the firm’s current help center is available.

Current evidence is part of the exception. An expired exception is not a permission.

Prop Firm Bridge research note: A legitimate weekend exception can be stated in one sentence with the exact account model and date. If it cannot, the rule is not clear enough to trade.

Book insight: Annie Duke, Thinking in Bets, Chapter 1, is relevant because strong decisions distinguish known permissions from assumptions.

2. Market Availability vs Account Permission: Two Different Questions

Why can an asset be tradable while the prop account still restricts it?

The underlying market and the prop program solve different problems. Cryptocurrency can trade continuously. FX liquidity can reopen Sunday evening. Futures contracts can resume on CME Globex. None of those facts forces a prop firm to permit weekend exposure.

The prop account can impose a narrower window because it wants to control simulated risk, liquidity conditions, execution quality or funded-account exposure. The market can be open and the account can still say no.

Always ask two questions separately: “Is the market open?” and “Does this account allow me to trade or hold it now?”

Only when both answers are yes is the action operationally available and compliant.

Why can account permission exist while the market is closed?

A weekend-friendly forex account can allow the trader to hold a position while normal FX quoting is closed. Permission does not mean the trader can actively close or modify the position at every moment. The ticket remains open and resumes against the next available quotes.

This distinction is the foundation of gap risk. The account permits the exposure, but the trader temporarily loses normal market access.

Therefore, “weekend holding allowed” should never be translated as “weekend risk controllable at all times.”

The trader must size before the closure because permission continues while control decreases.

How can a 24/7 asset still have maintenance and liquidity differences?

Crypto trades continuously in many venues, but weekend depth and spreads can differ from weekday conditions. A platform can also have maintenance windows, instrument-specific availability or risk restrictions.

The absence of a full market closure reduces one type of gap mechanism but does not eliminate volatility or thin-liquidity risk.

A prop account can also route or simulate crypto differently from a direct exchange.

Market hours are only one variable in the weekend risk model.

Prop Firm Bridge research note: Market open is a technical fact. Account permission is a contractual fact. Traders need both.

Book insight: Mark Douglas, Trading in the Zone, Chapter 4, supports defining the exact operating environment before executing the strategy.

3. Evaluation-Stage Exceptions: When Weekend Holding Is Allowed Before Funding

Why would a firm allow weekend holding during evaluation?

An evaluation is designed to measure behavior under a set of simulated rules. A firm can choose to permit multi-day positions so swing traders can demonstrate their strategy naturally. The account can still enforce daily and maximum loss limits to control risk.

Weekend permission can therefore be part of the product’s target audience. Traders who use daily or four-hour setups may need several sessions to reach the technical exit.

The permission does not mean the funded stage must use the same policy. The firm can apply different risk controls after passing.

This is why evaluation-stage weekend flexibility should be treated as one stage of the product lifecycle.

How can evaluation permission improve strategy consistency?

A swing trader can keep valid positions open until the tested stop or target instead of closing every Friday. That makes evaluation execution closer to the historical strategy.

Forced calendar exits can reduce average winner size, create extra transaction cost and produce Monday re-entry problems. Weekend permission removes that distortion.

The trader still needs smaller gap-adjusted size because the challenge has hard drawdown limits.

Permission improves strategy fit; risk management makes the permission usable.

Why should evaluation permission never be assumed on a different challenge model?

One-step, two-step, instant and zero-style products can have different rules. A firm can permit weekends on one evaluation and prohibit them on another.

The account model must appear in the rule sheet. “Evaluation account” is still too broad if the company offers several evaluation products.

Before buying, compare the exact weekend rule against the strategy’s median holding time.

A low challenge fee is not valuable if the product forces the strategy to change every Friday.

Prop Firm Bridge research note: Evaluation permission is useful only when it is attached to the exact challenge model, not the general firm name.

Book insight: Morgan Housel, The Psychology of Money, Chapter 13, supports choosing an environment that leaves enough room for the strategy’s normal behavior.

4. Funded and Master Restrictions: Why Permission Can Disappear After Passing

Why can funded accounts use stricter weekend controls?

The funded or Master stage can represent a different risk objective. The firm may want less closed-market exposure, more standardized execution or tighter control over weekend gaps. It can therefore change the holding rule after the evaluation.

This is not inherently unfair if the funded terms disclose the difference. The trader’s responsibility is to compare both stages before starting the challenge.

A strategy that passes naturally but cannot be traded after funding creates a poor long-term fit.

The evaluation should be selected with the funded destination in mind.

What is the danger of carrying evaluation habits into the funded stage?

Habits become automatic. A trader who held every Friday for several weeks can receive a Master account and continue the same routine without reopening the rules. The first weekend becomes a compliance problem.

Passing should trigger a fresh account audit: weekend, news, drawdown, payout, maximum exposure and prohibited strategies.

Do not treat the funded account as the same account with a different label.

Stage transition is a new contract state.

How should swing traders react if funded permission is removed?

There are three options: adapt the strategy with a tested Friday-close rule, choose another product whose funded stage allows weekends, or use the current account only for setups that naturally close before Friday.

The weakest option is to keep the old strategy and look for a technical loophole.

Account compatibility should be solved structurally rather than through edge-case interpretation.

The funded stage is where long-term repeatability matters most.

Prop Firm Bridge research note: A rule change after passing can change strategy suitability even when the evaluation was a perfect fit.

Book insight: Annie Duke, Thinking in Bets, Chapter 1, supports updating the decision when the environment changes.

5. FundingPips: A Live Example of Model- and Stage-Specific Weekend Rules

What do current FundingPips rules show about standard evaluation models?

Current FundingPips documentation says weekend holding is allowed during the evaluation phases of 1 Step Flex, 2 Step Standard, 2 Step Flex and 2 Step Pro, across instruments under those evaluation rules.

This creates a legitimate evaluation-stage permission for traders whose systems need multi-day holds.

The permission should still be combined with gap-adjusted position sizing and current drawdown math.

It is a compliance exception, not an exemption from market risk.

What changes on corresponding Master Accounts?

FundingPips currently has a temporary weekend-holding restriction on corresponding Master Accounts effective from January 29, 2026. Positions are auto-closed before the weekend under the current temporary policy.

This means the same brand and strategy can have “yes” during evaluation and “no” during Master. Both answers are correct when the stage is named.

A trader planning a long-term swing approach should account for this transition before starting the challenge.

The temporary nature also means the rule should be rechecked regularly.

Why do Zero and 1K Instant show the importance of product exceptions?

FundingPips Zero currently uses a stricter weekend rule under its baseline structure, while the 1K Instant model has its own exception that permits weekend holding across instruments under its current rules.

These differences prove that account type can be more important than the company name.

A trader should never transfer the standard evaluation rule to Zero or Instant without verifying it.

The correct comparison table needs separate rows for each product.

Prop Firm Bridge research note: FundingPips is a strong 2026 example of why “Does this firm allow weekends?” is the wrong question. Ask which model and which stage.

Book insight: Mark Douglas, Trading in the Zone, Chapter 4, supports executing the exact rule set rather than a remembered summary.

6. Crypto: 24/7 Market Access Does Not Automatically Mean Prop Permission

Why is crypto the most common supposed weekend exception?

Bitcoin and other major cryptocurrencies trade continuously on many exchanges. Traders therefore assume crypto should be exempt from Friday shutdown rules. From the market-hours perspective, there is no standard global Friday close comparable with traditional FX.

The prop account can still limit access, prohibit weekend trading on a particular plan or offer crypto through a separate product.

This means crypto can be a legitimate exception only when the exact account says so.

24/7 market structure is evidence of availability, not permission.

How can a weekend-friendly crypto product still be risky?

Weekend liquidity can be thinner, spreads can widen and volatility can be sharp. A platform may use different price feeds or maintenance periods.

Because the market remains open, a standard stop has more opportunities to execute continuously than a traditional closed-market forex stop, but fast price movement can still cause slippage.

Prop drawdown remains active according to the account formula.

Crypto permission removes one compliance barrier, not the need for risk limits.

Why should traders verify instrument lists as well as weekend permission?

A crypto-enabled plan may support only selected coins. Another plan may show crypto symbols during weekdays but disable them on weekends. The account’s symbol list and schedule matter.

Check the platform specification before building a strategy around an assumed 24/7 market.

Do not infer one coin’s availability from another coin.

Asset-specific verification completes the permission chain.

Prop Firm Bridge research note: Crypto is only a weekend exception when the prop product explicitly makes it one.

Book insight: Morgan Housel, The Psychology of Money, Chapter 13, supports separating access from survivable risk.

7. Blueberry Funded: Product Exceptions Inside the Same CFD Brand

What do current Blueberry weekend rules demonstrate?

Current Blueberry Funded documentation says overnight holding is allowed across its account types and weekend holding is allowed on most account types, with Flex 1-Step as the important exception.

This creates two legitimate answers under one brand. Standard products can support weekend swing positions while Flex 1-Step requires a different Friday routine.

The product name must therefore be included in any comparison article or trader checklist.

A brand-level “yes” hides the exception.

Why does Flex 1-Step prove that similar challenge names can still differ?

Both products can be one-step evaluations, but the risk design is different. Challenge structure labels such as one-step do not determine every rule.

A trader who moves from one Blueberry product to another should rebuild the weekend matrix rather than copy the old settings.

This applies to server times, news, drawdown and other rules as well.

Product transitions deserve the same audit as firm transitions.

How should a swing trader choose between a flexible and restrictive product?

Backtest the strategy with the real Friday exit rule. If forced closure materially reduces expectancy, the flexible product may be the better fit even if another product has attractive pricing or targets.

If the strategy is intraday, the restrictive product may have no practical downside.

Use strategy fit as the primary filter and purchase economics second.

The best account is the one that requires the fewest untested changes.

Prop Firm Bridge research note: Product exceptions are not footnotes. They can decide whether a strategy is executable at all.

Book insight: Annie Duke, Thinking in Bets, Chapter 1, supports comparing the full rule set rather than one product label.

8. FXIFY: Why Separate Crypto Products Do Not Exempt a FOREX Instant Account

What does current FXIFY Instant Funding material say about weekends?

FXIFY’s current FOREX Instant Funding material requires positions closed before the Friday deadline and states that weekend holding is not allowed on that product.

It also explains that crypto is not offered as a weekend exception inside that FOREX Instant Funding plan and directs traders toward separate crypto products.

This is a useful example of product segmentation. The company can support crypto elsewhere without making the forex account exempt.

The trader must use the permission attached to the purchased plan.

Why is “the company offers crypto” not enough evidence?

A company can operate several account environments with different feeds, leverage, hours and rules. Availability in one product does not grant access in another.

The same principle applies to weekend holding, news trading and instruments.

Evidence must match the exact account SKU or plan.

General company capability is weaker than product documentation.

How should traders evaluate a separate crypto plan?

Check its own weekend hours, supported assets, drawdown, leverage, spreads and maintenance rules. Do not assume the crypto plan copies the forex rules except for the market schedule.

Then compare whether the crypto strategy genuinely needs weekend access.

Purchasing a separate product only for a theoretical exception can add complexity without improving the edge.

Permission should solve a tested strategy requirement.

Prop Firm Bridge research note: Product boundaries matter: a permission on a crypto plan does not transfer into a FOREX Instant account.

Book insight: Mark Douglas, Trading in the Zone, Chapter 4, supports operating inside the exact environment in which the strategy is authorized.

9. Futures: Sunday Reopening Does Not Create a Weekend-Holding Exemption

Why do traders confuse Sunday futures trading with weekend holding?

CME futures reopen Sunday evening in U.S. time. A trader sees the market available and assumes a Friday position could simply remain open until Sunday. Many prop programs prohibit that.

The exchange’s Sunday session is the beginning of a new trading week. A prop firm can require every prior position closed before Friday while allowing new positions after Sunday reopening.

Market continuity across weeks is not the same as account continuity.

The Friday rule controls whether the old ticket can survive.

How do Tradeify and The5ers Futures illustrate the rule?

Tradeify currently requires positions flat by its daily 4:45 PM ET cutoff and does not allow weekend holds. The5ers Futures requires both Swing and Day Trade programs flat before the weekend, even though the Swing program has limited weekday overnight permission.

Neither program creates an asset exception because ES, NQ, FX futures or another contract will reopen Sunday.

The trader begins a new session from flat.

This is a structural futures risk model, not an instrument-specific loophole.

Can an exchange-traded asset ever have a legitimate weekend exception?

Only if the specific prop program explicitly allows it under its own rules. The exchange schedule alone is insufficient evidence.

A trader should search the firm’s overnight, trading-hours and weekend sections together.

If the documentation says all positions must be closed, no individual contract should be assumed exempt without explicit wording.

Use the firm rule above market availability.

Prop Firm Bridge research note: Sunday futures trading is a new-session permission, not proof that Friday positions can remain open.

Book insight: Annie Duke, Thinking in Bets, Chapter 1, supports distinguishing two events that happen near each other but have different rules.

10. Add-Ons and Optional Features: When Permission Must Be Purchased or Enabled

Can weekend holding depend on an add-on?

Yes. Some prop products can offer optional weekend or swing permissions on eligible accounts. The base account and the add-on account then have different rule sets.

The trader should verify when the feature becomes active, whether it applies during evaluation and funded stages, and whether every instrument is covered.

A purchased feature is a legitimate permission only after it is attached correctly to the account.

Do not assume checkout wording overrides the final account terms.

Why should the add-on cost be included in strategy evaluation?

If the swing strategy needs weekend holding, the add-on is part of the cost of running the system. Compare that cost with the performance loss created by mandatory Friday exits.

A cheaper account without the feature can be more expensive if it materially reduces strategy expectancy.

Conversely, an intraday trader should not pay for flexibility that will never be used.

Feature value is strategy-specific.

Can an add-on change drawdown or other conditions too?

Potentially. Optional features can be bundled with other product differences. The trader should read the entire modified rule set rather than one checkbox description.

Recalculate risk and reset the weekend matrix after the feature is enabled.

The account should be treated as a new configuration.

Every permission can have accompanying conditions.

Prop Firm Bridge research note: An add-on is a legitimate rule change only when its scope and activation are documented on the exact account.

Book insight: Morgan Housel, The Psychology of Money, Chapter 13, supports paying for flexibility only when it improves the system’s durability.

11. Metals, Indices and Other CFDs: Never Assume an Asset Is Exempt

Why do traders assume gold has different weekend rules?

Gold trades different hours from many currency pairs and can react strongly to geopolitical events. Traders therefore sometimes assume it has a special weekend exception.

The account can apply one weekend rule across all CFD instruments or define specific exceptions. The trader needs explicit wording.

Gold’s importance during weekend news changes risk, not automatically permission.

Never infer compliance from the instrument’s popularity.

Why can indices have special trading hours without special holding permission?

Index CFDs often follow underlying futures and cash-market schedules with instrument-specific breaks. The prop platform can still apply a broad “all positions flat” rule before the weekend.

Instrument hours and account holding rules should be stored separately.

A symbol being tradable later than another symbol does not necessarily move the prop deadline.

The firm’s rule determines which clock matters.

How should exotic forex pairs be treated?

Exotics can have wider spreads, thinner liquidity and larger reopening gaps. Even when weekend holding is allowed, the risk can be less attractive than on liquid majors.

Permission should not be treated as evidence that every permitted asset is equally suitable for carrying.

Use instrument-specific historical gaps and spread data.

Compliance is binary; risk quality is not.

Prop Firm Bridge research note: Asset-specific market hours can differ while the prop-firm weekend rule remains universal across the account.

Book insight: Mark Douglas, Trading in the Zone, Chapter 7, supports separating permission from probability and execution quality.

12. Temporary Rule Changes: An Exception Can Appear or Disappear During the Year

Why do prop firms use temporary weekend restrictions?

A firm can change risk controls during periods of unusual market uncertainty, operational changes or product redesign. The rule can be explicitly temporary while remaining active for months.

Traders should not assume temporary means short enough to ignore.

The current rule controls until the firm removes or replaces it.

Every temporary update should receive a date in the account notes.

How should traders monitor temporary changes?

Check the official help center, dashboard notices and account emails. Reverify before major product transitions and after periods of unusual geopolitical risk.

Do not rely solely on search-engine snippets because they can cache old wording.

If the account’s strategy depends on weekend holding, a periodic rule audit is worth the small effort.

Rule monitoring is part of operating a prop account.

What should happen when a temporary restriction is lifted?

Do not immediately return to old size. First verify the new wording, stage coverage and instruments. Then restore the weekend strategy gradually if it remains compatible.

The market-risk environment may still be different from the period before the restriction.

Update the backtest assumptions and checklist date.

A permission returning is not a reason to increase risk automatically.

Prop Firm Bridge research note: Temporary rules are fully binding while active. “Temporary” describes duration, not importance.

Book insight: Annie Duke, Thinking in Bets, Chapter 1, supports updating decisions when the evidence changes instead of staying anchored to old rules.

13. Automatic Friday Closure: Why a System Safeguard Is Not an Exception

Why do traders think auto-close gives them permission to hold longer?

If a firm says the platform will automatically close positions before the weekend, traders can assume they do not need to act manually. They may wait for the system because the account will become flat anyway.

Automatic closure is a safeguard, not necessarily a preferred execution method. The fill can occur at an unfavorable price or wide spread. The resulting P&L can still affect drawdown.

The trader should close according to a personal deadline whenever the rule requires flatness.

The system should be the backup.

Can auto-close prevent a technical weekend rule breach but still fail the account?

Potentially, depending on the firm’s rules and the resulting loss. A firm may say the automatic closure itself is not a hard rule violation, but if the fill pushes equity through the daily or maximum loss limit, the drawdown consequence can still apply.

This is why the trader cannot treat auto-close as free protection.

Account safety depends on the price, not only the compliance mechanism.

Close early when the account is near a risk boundary.

Why should pending orders be checked after auto-close?

An automated close of open positions does not necessarily mean every pending entry has been canceled. A platform or account can handle orders differently.

Verify the final state: open positions, pending orders, EAs and copy systems.

The weekend flat condition should be confirmed, not assumed.

Operational completeness prevents a new position from appearing unexpectedly.

Prop Firm Bridge research note: Auto-close is not a loophole and not a guaranteed safe exit. Manual planning remains stronger.

Book insight: Morgan Housel, The Psychology of Money, Chapter 13, supports not relying on emergency systems as the normal plan.

14. How to Verify a Legitimate Weekend Exception Before Trading

What exact fields should be verified?

Record firm, account model, stage, asset class, specific instrument coverage, weekend hold permission, new-entry permission, Friday cutoff, source timezone, Sunday reopen and last-verified date.

If the rule has a temporary update, record the effective date and whether the firm says when it will end.

Add a link or note to the official source.

This makes the permission auditable.

What should a support question look like when the rule is unclear?

Ask narrowly: “On [account model], [stage], can an existing [instrument] position remain open from Friday close through the Sunday/Monday reopen? Are pending orders or protective stops treated differently?”

One precise question is stronger than “Can I trade weekends?”

Keep the written response and date.

If support gives a vague answer, ask the unresolved part separately.

Why should the most restrictive interpretation be used until clarification?

The downside of waiting is usually one missed weekend. The downside of testing an aggressive interpretation can be an account problem.

Do not use live capital to discover what an ambiguous sentence means.

Stay flat or use the clearly permitted behavior until the rule is documented.

Clarity should precede exposure.

Prop Firm Bridge research note: A legitimate exception should survive a direct written support question without relying on hidden intent.

Book insight: Mark Douglas, Trading in the Zone, Chapter 4, supports removing preventable uncertainty before accepting market uncertainty.

15. Build a Weekend Exception Matrix for Multiple Prop Accounts

What should the matrix look like?

Create rows for each account and columns for weekend hold, stage, asset exceptions, Friday cutoff, source timezone, auto-close, Sunday trade access and last verification.

Do not merge accounts from the same firm into one row when the products differ.

Add a “market open but account restricted” flag for crypto and futures situations.

The matrix should make contradictions visible rather than hide them.

How should copied accounts with different exceptions be managed?

The strictest account should generally control a shared strategy. If one destination prohibits weekends, stop copying or flatten that account before the cutoff.

Do not let a weekend-friendly source create prohibited exposure in a stricter destination.

Use separate groups when necessary.

Copy convenience does not override account rules.

What should happen during the weekly audit?

Verify any rule marked temporary, check new product announcements and update cutoffs around DST or holidays. Review whether the strategy still needs every exception being used.

Remove stale assumptions from old accounts.

After Sunday/Monday, journal whether the permission was used and whether the gap risk remained inside the plan.

The matrix should improve both compliance and strategy selection over time.

Prop Firm Bridge research note: A weekend exception matrix turns apparent loopholes into documented account permissions that can be managed systematically.

Book insight: Annie Duke, Thinking in Bets, Chapter 1, supports organizing several conditional rules explicitly so decisions remain consistent.

Conclusion: Use Written Permissions, Not Loopholes

The weekend-holding landscape can look inconsistent until the exact account is identified. Crypto can be 24/7 and still restricted. An evaluation can allow weekends while a Master account does not. One product can permit a hold while another product under the same brand forces Friday closure.

Those differences are not invitations to evade rules. They are account-design choices. Use only the permission documented for the exact model, stage and asset. Then manage the market risk independently because a compliance exception does not protect the account from a weekend gap.

Frequently Asked Questions

No legitimate strategy should rely on bypassing a written restriction. What traders call a loophole is usually a genuine exception tied to an account type, stage, asset or product.

No. Crypto may trade 24/7 in the wider market, but a prop account can still restrict weekend crypto or offer it only on specific plans.

Current rules are model- and stage-dependent. Several standard evaluation models permit weekend holding, corresponding Master Accounts currently have a temporary restriction, FundingPips Zero is stricter, and the 1K Instant model has its own weekend permission.

Yes. Weekend rules can change after passing, so traders must recheck the exact funded or Master account before the first Friday.

No. Asset availability does not override account rules. The firm can restrict weekend holding across all instruments or define product-specific exceptions.

Not automatically. Many futures prop programs require positions to be flat before Friday even though the exchange reopens Sunday evening.

No. Market hours and prop-firm permissions are separate. The account contract controls whether the trader may hold or trade the instrument over the weekend.

A legitimate exception is a permission stated in current official rules, such as weekend holding being allowed only during evaluation, on a particular challenge, or for a specific product.

Check the current official account documentation, exact model and stage, instrument coverage, Friday cutoff and any temporary update. Ask support in writing if the wording is unclear.

No. Permission removes a compliance restriction but does not remove gap, spread, slippage, financing or drawdown risk.
