Is a payout delay always a sign of a bad prop firm?

Payouts can sometimes take longer than expected because of verification, payment processing, or account reviews. A delay doesn't automatically establish wrongdoing, but repeated unexplained delays can reasonably concern traders. How would you distinguish an ordinary processing delay from a pattern that suggests a firm may be unreliable?
