UNDERSTAND YOUR DEALING RANGE

Israel Godwin

A dealing range helps you organise price action between a meaningful swing low and swing high.

In ICT-style analysis, traders often use the range's midpoint, known as equilibrium, to assess whether price is trading in the upper or lower half of the range.

The upper half is commonly called premium, while the lower half is called discount.

For example, if you have a bullish bias on NAS100, you might look for a suitable long entry in discount rather than chasing price after a large rally.

However, premium and discount are contextual tools, not standalone buy and sell signals.
