A Low Volume Node (LVN) represents a price area on a Volume Profile where very little trading activity took place. Its main purpose is to highlight zones of price rejection or fair value transition. Because market participants spent little time transacting there, prices tend to move through LVNs rapidly. Traders often use them as breakout zones or target levels, anticipating that price will accelerate when revisiting an LVN, but they can also lead to sudden fakeouts if volume unexpectedly steps in.
When trading with a prop firm, managing volatility around these fast-moving zones is critical to protecting your daily loss limits. Always keep your risk in check and avoid chasing breakouts blindly. How do you incorporate volume profiles into your strategy? Share your thoughts below!
