What Is Cumulative Volume Delta?

CVD: A useful tool, but not a standalone trading strategy.

Cumulative Volume Delta adds the delta values over time to show the running balance of aggressive buying versus selling.

One situation I find interesting is when price makes a new high but CVD fails to confirm it.

Could that indicate weakening buying pressure?

Possibly. But divergence can persist, and price can continue trending despite it.

Before acting, consider the broader trend, nearby liquidity, session context, and whether price actually shows rejection.

A divergence is a question worth investigating—not an automatic entry signal.
