The Importance of a Trading Journal
If you don't record your trades, how will you know what actually works?
A trading journal should be more than an entry price and a profit figure.
For each trade, consider recording:
• Market and session
• Setup and entry reason
• Order flow evidence
• Stop-loss and target
• Planned risk and actual result
• Screenshot before and after the trade
• Emotional state
• Whether you followed your rules
After 50–100 trades, review the data for patterns.
Maybe one setup performs better in a trend. Maybe your worst losses come from trading after a missed entry.
Your journal turns vague memories into evidence you can analyze.
