Why the Opening Session Matters
The first part of the US session can completely change the NQ trading environment.
Around the US cash-market open, participation and volatility can change significantly.
A level that was respected during a quieter period may be tested aggressively once activity increases.
I like to observe:
The overnight high and low.
The previous session's important levels.
How price reacts around the opening range.
Whether buying or selling pressure produces meaningful movement.
The opening move doesn't always establish the trend for the entire day.
Sometimes it continues. Sometimes it reverses. Sometimes price remains in a range.
Rather than predicting the outcome before the session begins, I want a plan for each possibility.
