Why is it easier to follow a strategy in backtesting than in live trading?

Historical charts do not create the same pressure as a real evaluation with strict limits.

What helped you bridge the gap between testing a strategy and executing it live?

Following a strategy in backtesting is easier because historical data lacks emotional pressure, slippage, and real financial consequences. In backtesting, you see the outcome instantly and hindsight bias can trick you into thinking entries and exits were obvious.

In live trading, especially during an evaluation with strict daily loss limits and consistency rules, fear and greed alter decision-making. To bridge the gap, traders often use forward testing on demo accounts under exact live conditions, enforce strict risk management rules, and automate execution where possible.
