The Importance of Session Volume Profile
Why I pay attention to the session volume profile.
The session volume profile organizes traded volume by price, allowing traders to see where activity concentrated during a selected session.
Three common references are:
Point of Control: the price level with the highest volume in the profile.
Value Area High: the upper boundary of the selected value area.
Value Area Low: the lower boundary of the selected value area.
These levels can help structure a trading plan, but they are not guaranteed turning points.
I also consider the session's overall direction, opening location, and whether price is moving into or away from established value.
The profile helps organize market information. It doesn't replace a complete entry and risk-management plan.
