The Difference Between Information and an Edge
Knowing more about order flow doesn't automatically make you a better trader.
You can understand footprint charts, delta, absorption, volume profiles, liquidity, and market depth and still struggle to make consistent decisions.
Information becomes useful when you apply it within a clear, tested framework.
For example, rather than taking every absorption signal, you could define a specific setup around absorption at a predetermined level, with a clear entry trigger and invalidation point.
Then record the results across a meaningful sample, accounting for costs and slippage.
This helps distinguish an interesting market observation from a potentially profitable trading method.
The goal isn't to know every order flow concept.
It's to understand which concepts genuinely improve your decisions and which ones simply add noise.
