The Danger of Confirmation Bias
Sometimes traders see exactly what they want to see on a footprint chart.
If you're bullish, positive delta can look like confirmation.
If you're bearish, the same market activity might be interpreted as buyers getting trapped.
This is confirmation bias: favoring information that supports your existing belief while ignoring evidence against it.
One way to reduce it is to write down what would invalidate your trade idea before entering.
For a long trade, ask what evidence would show that buyers are failing. For a short, ask what would show that sellers are losing control.
If you cannot identify evidence that would prove you wrong, you may be interpreting the chart rather than analyzing it objectively.
A strong process allows the market to disagree with you.
