What Is Liquidity Seeking?

Sachin Yadav

Why do traders talk about price moving toward liquidity?

Large orders often require sufficient opposing interest to execute.

As a result, trading activity may concentrate around prices where many orders are available or where participants are likely to transact.

Some traders describe price movement toward these areas as liquidity seeking.

However, the term should not be treated as proof that the market deliberately targets every stop-loss order.

Price movement results from many interacting orders, market conditions, and participant decisions.

For NQ, previous highs and lows can be useful reference points because traders may monitor them for breakouts, stops, or new entries.

But price can reject those levels, pass through them, or ignore them entirely.

Liquidity provides context, not certainty.
