Building a Minimal Order Flow Workspace
My ideal order flow workspace would answer three questions.
First: Where is price in the broader market structure?
Second: What is happening with executed buying and selling?
Third: How is price interacting with available liquidity?
A simple workspace might include:
A conventional chart for structure and key levels.
A footprint chart for bid/ask volume.
A DOM or heatmap for examining displayed liquidity.
You don't necessarily need all three. The right setup depends on the strategy.
I would remove any tool that doesn't contribute useful information to the decision-making process.
The purpose of a trading workspace is to make important information easier to interpret, not to fill every inch of the screen.
