When Delta Divergence Is Useful
I treat delta divergence as a warning to investigate, not an automatic entry signal.
Suppose NQ makes a new high, but cumulative volume delta fails to reach its previous high.
This may suggest that aggressive buying is not confirming the price move.
However, price can continue higher even when delta diverges.
I want to see whether the market also shows a failed breakout, rejection from an important level, or a change in structure.
Without additional evidence, divergence may simply persist.
The goal is to use delta to ask better questions about the market.
It should not replace a complete trading setup with defined entry, exit, and invalidation rules.
