Why One Good Trading Day Means Little
One profitable NQ session doesn't prove that your strategy works.
A trader might make a large profit on one day because market conditions happened to suit their approach.
Another trader might follow a sound process and finish the session with a loss.
Neither result tells the entire story.
I prefer to evaluate performance across a meaningful sample of trades and sessions.
That includes reviewing average win, average loss, drawdowns, execution costs, and whether the strategy's rules were followed.
A profitable day can be encouraging, but it should not become a reason to increase risk immediately.
Consistency is demonstrated through repeated decisions and evidence over time—not one impressive screenshot.
