When Should You Stop Trading for the Day?

Sachin Yadav

Knowing when to stop trading is part of the strategy.

Some traders continue taking trades after their best opportunities have passed.

Others keep trading because they want to recover an earlier loss.

Both behaviors can lead to unnecessary risk.

I prefer to define stopping conditions before the session begins.

These might include reaching a daily loss limit, violating a predefined execution rule, or recognizing that emotional decision-making is affecting my trades.

The specific conditions should fit the strategy and account rules.

Stopping doesn't mean giving up on trading.

It means protecting the ability to return with a clear mind and a disciplined process.
