How to Handle a Losing Streak

Sachin Yadav

A losing streak is when your process matters most.

After several losses, it's natural to question your strategy.

But immediately changing everything can make it difficult to determine whether the losses came from normal variance, poor execution, or a genuine weakness in the strategy.

I would review:

  1. Were the trades valid according to my rules?

  2. Were the market conditions suitable?

  3. Did I follow my risk limits?

  4. Are the results consistent with the strategy's historical performance?

If emotional control is deteriorating, taking a break may be more useful than forcing another trade.

A losing streak deserves investigation, not panic.

The objective is to learn from the evidence without allowing frustration to make the next decision for you.
