When a Winning Trade Was Actually a Mistake
A profitable trade can still be a bad decision.
Suppose you enter NQ without confirmation, use excessive size, and ignore your stop plan.
The market moves in your favor, and you finish with a profit.
It feels good, but the process was flawed.
If you reward yourself for breaking your rules because the trade happened to win, you're reinforcing behavior that can become costly later.
I try to evaluate both the outcome and the quality of the decision.
Did the setup meet my criteria? Was the risk appropriate? Did I execute according to the plan?
Profit matters, but it shouldn't be the only measure of a good trade.
A lucky outcome does not turn poor risk management into a sound strategy.
