Why Contract Selection Matters in NQ Trading
NQ and MNQ track the same Nasdaq-100 futures market, but their contract sizes differ.
For each full index point, NQ is worth $20 per contract, while MNQ is worth $2 per contract, before fees and slippage.
That difference can significantly affect the dollar risk of a trade.
I calculate the distance to my stop, multiply it by the contract's point value, and then account for costs.
The goal is to choose a position size that fits the risk limit—not the largest size the account permits.
