Why a Fast Move Through a Price Level Isn't Always a Breakout

Sachin Yadav

NQ moves quickly through resistance, and it looks like a breakout is underway.

But speed alone doesn't tell me whether the market will hold above the level.

Price can move through an area because liquidity is thin, then return just as quickly when opposing orders appear.

I watch what happens after the initial move. Does price accept the new area, or does it fall back into the previous range?

A breakout is more convincing when the market can sustain the move, not simply touch a new price.
