Footprint Charts: See Buying and Selling at Each Price

A footprint chart breaks down executed volume at individual price levels inside each candle.

Depending on the chart settings, it can show bid volume, ask volume, delta, and imbalances.

I use it to investigate questions such as:

Are aggressive buyers making progress? Is selling being absorbed? Is a breakout gaining follow-through?

The important part is context.

A bullish footprint pattern near resistance may behave differently from the same pattern near support.

Footprints provide detail, but interpreting that detail still requires market structure and risk management.
