The Opening Range: A Simple Way to Structure the Session
The Opening Range records the high and low of a defined period near the market open.
Traders often watch for price to break above or below that range.
A breakout may lead to continuation, but it can also fail and return inside the range.
I watch whether price holds outside the range, how the market behaves on a retest, and whether the move has meaningful follow-through.
The Opening Range provides structure for the session.
It doesn't tell me in advance which direction the market must take.
