MACD: Understanding Momentum and Trend Changes
MACD compares two exponential moving averages and includes a signal line. Many versions also display a histogram.
Traders use it to examine momentum, crossovers, and possible changes in trend behavior.
But a crossover can occur after a large part of the move has already happened.
In a choppy market, MACD can also generate repeated signals that don't lead to sustained movement.
I prefer to interpret MACD with the market's structure and broader trend.
No crossover should replace a clear entry, exit, and risk-management plan.
