Why I Don't Celebrate Before a Trade Is Closed

An open position showing a large unrealized profit can create excitement.

I start imagining the final result before the trade is finished.

But open profit can change quickly, especially in volatile futures markets.

I try to stay focused on the exit plan instead of mentally spending money that hasn't been realized.

A trade is still in progress until the position is closed.

The job isn't finished when the chart looks good. It's finished when the position has been managed according to the plan.
