The Discipline of Accepting a Missed Fill
My limit order is placed, price approaches the level, and then the market moves away without filling me.
It's tempting to chase the move with a market order.
But the original entry may no longer offer the same risk-to-reward.
I remind myself that a missed fill isn't a reason to abandon the plan.
If price returns to a valid area, I can reassess. Otherwise, I let it go.
Execution discipline includes accepting that some orders won't be filled.
