The Importance of Knowing When Your Setup Is Unavailable
Some trading setups depend on specific conditions.
A breakout strategy may need a clear range. A mean-reversion strategy may need a balanced market. A pullback strategy may need an established directional move.
If those conditions aren't present, the setup may not be available.
I don't need to force my favorite strategy into every market environment.
Recognizing when a setup is unavailable is part of understanding it properly.
A strategy becomes more useful when I know both where it belongs and where it doesn't.
