Why I Watch the Reaction, Not Just the Level

A previous high is only a price on the chart until the market reacts to it.

Does price reject the area quickly? Does it consolidate near the high? Does it break above and hold?

The answers can provide more context than the level itself. I want to understand what buyers and sellers are doing around a price, not simply draw another line.
