The Difference Between a Limit and a Market Order

Sachin Yadav

A market order prioritizes execution, but the final price may differ from the displayed price.

A limit order controls the maximum price I'm willing to pay when buying or the minimum when selling, but execution isn't guaranteed.

Neither order type is automatically better. The right choice depends on the situation, urgency, liquidity, and the risk of not getting filled.
