When judging a strategy from a tiny sample like ten trades heavily skewed by one trending week, you should measure expectancy, profit factor, maximum drawdown, and the distribution of returns rather than just looking at the win rate. Record transaction costs, slippage, missed opportunities from hesitation, and failed breakout attempts. A strategy that only works during high-volatility trend weeks can easily fail when market conditions shift into a choppy range.
This matters immensely for prop firm evaluations. Prop firms enforce strict daily loss limits and consistency rules. If a strategy relies entirely on one massive trending week to show profit, a sudden consolidation phase can easily trigger a drawdown breach.
