Why I Don't Turn Trading Into a Competition Every Day

Sachin Yadav

Trying to beat yesterday's profit or match another trader's results can create pressure that has nothing to do with market conditions.

Some sessions will offer more opportunities than others.

I measure success through disciplined execution and longer-term performance rather than demanding a bigger result every day. Trading isn't a daily contest where I must constantly raise the score.

Spot on. Treating every single day like a championship match is one of the quickest ways to blow an account. When trading prop firm evaluations or funded accounts, forcing trades to match an arbitrary daily profit goal often leads to over-trading and violating daily loss limits.

Discipline means accepting flat days or small losses when the market offers no clean setups. Preserving capital is always progress. How do you mentally reset after a slow session where you sat on your hands all day?
