Focus Environment Rules

Michael Francis

Have you set non-negotiable rules for your trading environment (no phone, single screen, specific hours)? Which rule has protected your focus the most when willpower was low?

Yes, I believe every serious trader needs non-negotiable rules to protect their focus. For me, the most important rule would be keeping my phone away while analyzing and trading, because social media and unnecessary notifications can easily lead to distraction and impulsive decisions.

    My key rules would be:

    * πŸ“΅ No social media during trading hours.

    * πŸ“Š Focus on one chart and one trading setup at a time.

    * ⏰ Trade only during my planned sessions.

    * πŸ›‘ Never enter a trade without a clear setup and risk management plan.

    * 🧠 Stop trading when emotions take over.

The biggest lesson: Don't rely on willpower alone. Build an environment that makes discipline easier, especially on days when motivation is low.

What about you? Which distraction affects your trading focus the most: your phone, emotions, or the urge to enter trades without a proper setup?
