Notification Discipline

Michael Francis

How strict are you about silencing non-essential notifications during trading hours? Have you noticed a clear difference in decision quality on days when your phone and chats are fully quiet?

I’d be very strict about silencing non-essential notifications during trading hours. Social media, chats, and random alerts can break concentration and lead to impulsive entries or missed setups.

    My rules would be:

📵 Enable Do Not Disturb before the session starts.

📊 Keep only TradingView alerts and essential notifications enabled.

🎯 Avoid checking WhatsApp or social media while analyzing the market.

📝 Review my trading journal to compare decision quality on quiet days versus distracted days.

I haven’t personally measured this difference, but it’s worth testing. Track impulsive entries, rule violations, and execution quality over several weeks.
