Next Day Standards Slip

Michael Francis

After a strong winning session, do you catch yourself accepting slightly weaker setups the following day? What morning routine reliably resets your criteria to full strictness?

After a strong winning session, overconfidence can creep in and make weaker setups look more attractive. My morning reset is to review my trading plan, mark key levels, check my emotional state, and confirm my entry criteria before opening any trade. I also remind myself that yesterday’s profit doesn’t guarantee today’s success. My rule is simple: the market doesn’t owe me another win, and no setup qualifies unless it meets my full criteria.
