hardest Journal Entries

Which trade reviews do you resist writing the most — big losses, rule breaks, or missed winners? Have the entries you least wanted to write produced the clearest lessons?

The reviews I resist most are usually the trades where I broke my rules, especially when I know the loss was avoidable. But those are often the most valuable lessons. Reviewing them helps me identify emotional triggers, recognize patterns, and improve my discipline. I’ve learned that a trade journal isn’t just about recording profits and losses; it’s about being honest with myself. The trades that hurt my ego the most can teach me the most, if I’m willing to study them.
