Quick answer: to find out whether a prop firm has changed its rules, open the prop firm rule changes tracker, filter by market or by rule, and read the "before to now" line and the official source link for the firm you are considering. On 25 October 2026 the tracker listed 41 price and rule changes still in force. In October so far, 24 were worse for traders and 17 were better. Check the firm here on the day you buy, because a rule can change between the day you read a review and the day you pay.
Most traders find out that a rule changed after they have already paid. A challenge gets more expensive, the profit split drops, the drawdown gets tighter, or a payout rule is rewritten. This guide shows how to check for changes in about two minutes, how to read what you see, and what the tracker can and cannot tell you. Every figure below was read from our own tracker on 25 October 2026, so you can open the same page and compare.
What the prop firm rule changes tracker shows
The tracker lists price and rule changes at the forex (CFD), futures and crypto prop firms we review, newest first. For each change it shows the firm and programme, the rule that changed, the account size it applies to, the old value and the new value, the date, whether the change is better or worse for traders, and a link to the firm's official page so you can check it yourself. A change is listed only once it is confirmed on the firm's own page, and only changes still in force today are shown.
Every firm is checked daily against its own official website. That daily check is the point: a review written last month can be wrong today, and the tracker is how you find out before paying.
The live numbers on 25 October 2026
| View | Changes listed | Worse for traders | Better for traders |
|---|---|---|---|
| All changes still in force | 41 | - | - |
| October 2026 (1 to 25 Oct) | 41 | 24 | 17 |
| Last 7 days (19 to 25 Oct) | 17 | 5 | 12 |
The split changes every day. Last week was mostly good news, with more better changes than worse ones. The month as a whole leans the other way, with more stricter or pricier changes than better ones. That is why a single "the firm is great" review is not enough: you need to know what the rules are today.
Real examples from the last few days
These are changes the tracker listed, each checked on the firm's official site on the date shown. They show the kinds of changes that matter.
| Date | Firm | Programme | Rule | Before | Now | For traders |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 24 Oct | SizeProp | Degen | Max drawdown | 3% | 3.5% | Better |
| 24 Oct | Blue Guardian | 1 Step Standard | Profit split | 90% | 85% | Worse |
| 23 Oct | Crypto Fund Trader Perps | Break Evaluation | Max drawdown | 4% | 3% | Worse |
| 22 Oct | Crypto Fund Trader Perps | Break Evaluation ($50K) | Price | $139 | $198 | Worse |
| 22 Oct | Fintokei | StartTrader ($5K) | Price | $44 | $34 | Better |
Look at how different these are. One is a looser drawdown, one is a smaller profit split, one is a tighter drawdown, one is a price jump of about 42%, and one is a price cut of about 23%. A trader who read last month's reviews would have been wrong on every one of them. You can open the firm's page directly: Blue Guardian, SizeProp, Fintokei.
Step by step: check a firm before you buy
- Open the tracker. Go to the rule changes tracker. The top of the page shows how many changes are listed and how many are worse or better for traders.
- Filter by market. Choose CFD, Futures or Crypto so you only see firms you can trade.
- Filter by rule. If you care about one thing, such as drawdown or profit split, pick it from the rule list: price, profit split, drawdown, profit target, payouts or trading rules.
- Find your firm. Each change shows the firm name. If your firm has a recent change, read it before anything else.
- Read "before to now". The old value is on the left and the new value is on the right. Percentage rules are shown in points: 95% to 80% is a 15-point drop.
- Open the official source. Every change has a link to the firm's own page. Read the firm's wording, because it also tells you which accounts the change applies to.
- Check the firm page here. Open the firm on Prop Firm Bridge to see the full current rules and the date they were last checked.
How to read the colours and the numbers
- Green is better for traders: cheaper, more room to trade, a bigger split.
- Red is stricter or pricier: a higher price, a tighter drawdown, a smaller split.
- Yellow is a change that is neither clearly better nor worse.
- Price changes are shown in percent. A price that goes from $139 to $198 is about 42% more expensive.
- Percentage rules such as profit split or drawdown are shown in points, not percent. Going from 4% drawdown to 3% is one point tighter, even though it is a quarter less room in relative terms.
- The bar beside each change shows how big it is, so you can spot a large change at a glance.
Which prop firms changed their rules recently?
The tracker answers this directly. On 25 October 2026 the most recent changes involved firms such as SizeProp, Blue Guardian, Crypto Fund Trader Perps, Fintokei and Tradeify. Tap a date on the calendar to see only that day, or choose "Last 7 days" or "This month" for a wider view. If you only want bad news first, tap "Worse for traders".
A busy day: how to read 22 October 2026
Some days have one change and some have many. On Thursday 22 October 2026 the tracker listed 9 changes from 4 firms, 8 of them better for traders and 1 worse. The "day in short" box at the top of each date lists the biggest ones in a line each: a price rise at Crypto Fund Trader Perps, a price cut at Fintokei, a price cut of about 13% at Audacity Capital across 6 account sizes of its Ability Challenge, and a price cut on Tradeify's Select 300K V2 evaluation. When a firm has many changes on one day, open the firm's block and read the programme names, because the same firm can raise one programme and cut another. Reading only the firm name would give you the wrong picture.
One firm, many programmes: read the programme line
Most firms sell several programmes: a one-step and a two-step, an instant-funding route, a low-cost starter. A rule change usually applies to one of them. In the examples above, Blue Guardian's change applies to "1 Step Standard", SizeProp's to "Degen", and Crypto Fund Trader Perps' to "Break Evaluation". If you are buying a different programme, the change may not affect you at all. The programme and account size columns exist so you can tell in a few seconds whether a change is yours. When the account column says "All sizes", it applies across the programme.
If you already have a challenge running
A rule change is most dangerous when you are in the middle of a challenge. Here is a calm way to handle it:
- Find the change on the tracker and open the official source.
- Read the firm's wording on who it applies to: new purchases only, or all accounts.
- If it applies to you, recalculate your risk plan with the new number before your next trade.
- Save a screenshot of the firm's page and the date. If the firm's behaviour later differs from its published rule, you have a record.
- If it is unclear, ask support in writing and keep the answer.
Reading a profit split change in money terms
Percentages hide the cash. A simple way to see a split change is to apply it to a payout you expect. Take a $2,000 payout. At a 90% split you keep $1,800; at 85% you keep $1,700. The difference of $100 is small once, but over five payouts it is $500. The same logic applies to a price change: a $59 rise on a $139 evaluation is a 42% jump, and if you expect to buy two attempts, that is $118 more before you have placed a trade.
Words you will see on the tracker
| Term | What it means |
|---|---|
| Before to now | The old value and the new value of the rule that changed |
| Points | The size of a percentage rule change; 4% to 3% is one point |
| Programme | The specific account route the change applies to, such as 1 Step Standard |
| Account | The account size it applies to, or "All sizes" |
| Source | A link to the firm's own page where the change was confirmed |
| Worse for traders | Pricier, stricter or a smaller split |
| Better for traders | Cheaper, looser or a bigger split |
Prop firm drawdown change: why it matters most
Drawdown is the rule that ends accounts. A change from 4% to 3% on a $50K account takes your room from $2,000 to $1,500, a quarter of your safety margin, and the profit target does not shrink with it. If you are mid-challenge with a risk plan built for 4%, a change like that can break the plan. Always check the drawdown line and whether it is static, end-of-day or trailing, because a firm can change the type as well as the number.
Prop firm profit split and payout changes
A smaller split changes what you keep on every payout. On 24 October 2026 Blue Guardian's 1 Step Standard split moved from 90% to 85%. On a $1,000 payout, that is $900 before and $850 after, a $50 difference. Payout rule changes work the same way: a longer payout cycle or a new minimum can matter as much as a lower split. The tracker's "Payouts" filter shows only these. To see which firms actually pay, read our guide on how to check whether a prop firm really pays out.
Prop firm price changes: sales, rises and the real cost
Prices move both ways. Fintokei's StartTrader $5K price fell from $44 to $34 on 22 October 2026, and the same day Crypto Fund Trader Perps raised its $50K Break Evaluation from $139 to $198. A price change is only one part of cost: check resets, activation fees and add-ons on the firm's page before you compare totals. If you are comparing two firms, the compare tool puts their current rules side by side.
Do new prop firm rules apply to accounts I already bought?
It depends on the firm. Many apply new rules only to accounts bought after the change, but not all do. The tracker cannot decide this for you. Open the official source linked on each change and read the firm's own wording. If it is unclear, ask the firm's support in writing and keep the answer.
News trading, EAs and other trading-rule changes
The tracker also follows whether EAs, copy trading, news trading, and weekend or overnight holding are allowed. These change less often than prices, but when they change they can end a strategy overnight. If your approach depends on one of these, filter by "Trading rules" and look at your firm before each purchase.
Get changes in your inbox instead of checking every day
If you do not want to check the page every day, the tracker has a free weekly email: every Monday, each price and rule change of the week, worse changes first. There is a "Get updates" box at the top of the tracker page. It is free, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
What the tracker cannot tell you
- It lists confirmed changes only. A rule that changed but could not yet be confirmed on the firm's own page is not listed until it is.
- It lists changes still in force. A change that was reversed is not shown.
- It does not tell you whether a change applies to your account. Read the firm's wording at the source link.
- It is not a ranking. A firm with many changes is not automatically worse; it may simply be improving its prices.
What counts as a rule change?
The tracker follows challenge prices, profit targets, daily and maximum drawdown (in percent or in dollars per account size), the drawdown type, the profit split, the payout cycle, minimum trading days, consistency rules, and whether EAs, copy trading, news trading and weekend or overnight holding are allowed. It covers forex (CFD), futures and crypto prop firms. A change in any of these can alter your result, so all of them are worth a look before you pay.
How is a change confirmed?
Each firm's own pages are read every day, and a change is listed only after it is confirmed there. That means a rumour in a chat group, a post on social media or a reply from a support agent is not enough on its own. The listing carries the date the change was confirmed and the link to the page where you can read it yourself. If you ever find a difference between the tracker and the firm's page, the firm's page is the source of truth, and the tracker should catch up the next time it checks.
Price changes versus sales
A lower price is not always a permanent change. Firms often run time-limited sales, and a sale price can end. When you see a price drop, open the source and check whether the page describes it as a sale with an end date. If it does, decide whether you want to buy now or wait, knowing the price may go back up. If you plan to use a discount code, enter it at checkout and confirm the reduced total in the order summary before you pay; the order summary is the final price.
Using the tracker together with the other tools
The tracker answers "what changed?". Two other tools answer the questions that come next. The live payout tracker shows whether a firm is actually paying traders right now, with transactions you can open. The compare tool lines up two firms on the same rules so you can see which one fits your style. Used together, the three give you the rules today, the proof of payouts and a side-by-side view, which is a much stronger basis for a purchase than a single review.

A checklist for the day you buy
- Open the tracker and filter by your market.
- Find your firm and read every change from the last 30 days.
- Open the official source for each change that affects price, drawdown, split or payouts.
- Re-read the firm's current rules on its Prop Firm Bridge page.
- Check the date: if the last check is not today, check again before paying.
Rules change often, so the best habit is the simplest one: look on the day you buy. The numbers in this guide were read on 25 October 2026; the live tracker is always the current record.
