The HyroTrader Two-Step is a two-phase crypto challenge: reach 10% in Phase 1 and 5% in Phase 2, without losing 5% in a day or 10% in total, with at least 5 trading days in each phase. It comes in six sizes from $5,000 ($59) to $200,000 ($969), and it is the cheaper of HyroTrader's two main challenges at every size. This guide puts every rule into dollars and gives a separate plan for each phase, because the two phases are won in different ways.
The rules below come from HyroTrader's own pages in October 2026 and match the records Prop Firm Bridge keeps on the firm.
Key takeaways
- Phase 1: 10% target. Phase 2: 5% target. Daily loss 5%, maximum loss 10%, in both phases.
- Minimum 5 trading days per phase, so at least 10 in total. No time limit.
- The 40% Profit Distribution Rule applies to each phase's target: a counted day is capped at 4% of the account in Phase 1 and 2% in Phase 2.
- One position may not realize a loss above 3% of the initial balance.
- List prices: $59, $119, $249, $379, $579 and $969 for $5K to $200K.
The Two-Step rules at a glance
| Rule | Phase 1 | Phase 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Profit target | 10% | 5% |
| Daily loss | 5% | 5% |
| Maximum loss | 10% | 10% |
| Minimum trading days | 5 | 5 |
| Largest counted day (40% of target) | 4% of the account | 2% of the account |
| Per-position realized loss | 3% of the initial balance | 3% of the initial balance |
The daily drawdown model is chosen at checkout. Standard trails your intraday equity peak; Swing, a paid upgrade, keeps the daily level static. Our Standard vs Swing guide works through both with examples.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| $5,000 | $250 | $250 | $500 | $100 |
| $10,000 | $500 | $500 | $1,000 | $200 |
| $25,000 | $1,250 | $1,250 | $2,500 | $500 |
| $50,000 | $2,500 | $2,500 | $5,000 | $1,000 |

| $200,000 | $10,000 | $10,000 | $20,000 | $4,000 |
Two numbers stand out. In Phase 1 the target equals the maximum loss: you need to make exactly what you are allowed to lose, a much kinder ratio than the One-Step's 10% target against 6% room. In Phase 2 the target is only half of the maximum loss, but the counted-day cap halves too, so the phase rewards patience more than skill. Current prices for every size are on our HyroTrader challenges page.
How to approach Phase 1
Phase 1 is where the edge has to show. With 10% of room for a 10% target, a sensible risk per trade is around 0.75% to 1% of the account. On $100,000 that is $750 to $1,000, which allows ten or more full losses in a row before the $10,000 limit and five or more in a single day before the $5,000 daily limit.
- Write your dollar limits down before the first trade: daily, maximum, per position and the counted-day cap.
- Pick a daily stop well inside the 5% limit, for example 2%. Stopping early on a bad day is what keeps the maximum loss intact.
- Keep every stop far below the 3% per-position cap. One position at the cap uses almost a third of the whole room.
- Expect at least three profitable days. Because no day may exceed 40% of the target, 40% + 40% + 20% is the fastest possible path.
- Plan to trade beyond day 5 if needed. There is no time limit, so a slow week costs nothing.
Our free position size calculator turns a dollar risk and a stop distance into a position size, which matters on perps where one pair can move several percent in an hour.
How to approach Phase 2
Phase 2 looks easy and fails more traders than it should. The target is 5%, the room is still 10%, but a counted day is now capped at 2% of the account. On $50,000 that is $1,000 a day. You need at least three profitable days again, and you need 5 trading days at minimum regardless.
- Halve your risk. If you risked 1% per trade in Phase 1, 0.5% is plenty for a 5% target. The goal is to not lose the room, not to finish fast.
- Do not chase one big day. A $2,500 day on a $50K account counts for only $1,000 toward the rule, and it leaves a large open-profit swing for the drawdown to take back.
- Keep the same playbook. Phase 2 is a second test of the same strategy, not a chance to try a new one.
- Trade at least once every 30 days. An account with no trade for 30 days fails, and a quiet Phase 2 is where traders forget this.
A worked run on $50,000
| Stage | Days traded | Profit made | Biggest day | Worst drawdown |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 | 7 | $5,100 | $1,800 (under the $2,000 cap) | -$1,400 (well inside $5,000) |
| Phase 2 | 6 | $2,550 | $900 (under the $1,000 cap) | -$700 (well inside $5,000) |
Thirteen trading days and $379 at list price. The same trader on a One-Step would have had only $3,000 of total room for a $5,000 target, and the $1,400 dip in Phase 1 would have used almost half of it. That is the trade-off in one example: the Two-Step costs time, the One-Step costs margin for error.
Markets, platforms and costs
You trade USDT perpetual futures only: all Bybit USDT pairs except EUR/USD, about 700 pairs. Spot, USDC perpetuals, COIN-M futures and options are not allowed. Routes are HyroTrader's own platform, Bybit, BloFin, Tealstreet and Tiger.com, all with simulated execution. Maximum leverage is up to 100x on Bybit USDT perps (pair limits vary) and up to 150x on BTC and ETH on BloFin, while combined open-position value may not exceed the initial balance.
On the Bybit and Tealstreet routes, fees follow Bybit's VIP 0 rates: 0.0200% maker and 0.0550% taker. A $25,000 round trip with market orders costs $27.50. Over the 10 or more days of a Two-Step, fees add up, so count them in your drawdown planning. The HyroTrader fees, leverage and markets guide has more worked numbers.
Rules that apply in both phases
- No martingale, no cross-account hedging, no news-only strategies, no account sharing.
- No copy trading, mirroring or third-party signals. Your own bots and scripts are allowed.
- News trading, weekend holding and overnight holding are allowed.
- Low-cap coins are limited to 5% of the initial balance including leverage; total exposure is capped at 25% of the initial balance.
- Up to $400,000 across challenge and verification accounts, $200,000 across funded accounts.
After Phase 2
Funded accounts start at an 80% profit split with a published path to 90%. Payouts are on demand when eligible, in USDT or USDC, advertised at about 12 to 24 hours, with no HyroTrader payout fee and a $100 minimum after the split. Each request is capped at 5% of the initial balance, and profit above that cap that is not withdrawn is not paid, so plan regular requests. Details are in our HyroTrader payout rules guide.
Who the Two-Step suits
Swing traders who hold BTC, ETH or altcoin perps for days, traders whose normal drawdown sits between about 3% and 8%, and anyone who prefers a lower entry price and more room in exchange for a second phase. If your equity curve is very smooth and you want one stage, compare it with the One-Step in our One-Step vs Two-Step guide or the full One-Step challenge guide.

Frequently asked questions
Phase 1 has a 10% target and Phase 2 a 5% target. Both phases have a 5% daily loss limit, a 10% maximum loss and at least 5 trading days, with no time limit.
List prices are $59 for $5K, $119 for $10K, $249 for $25K, $379 for $50K, $579 for $100K and $969 for $200K.
Mostly by risking too much for a small target or trying to finish in one big day. The 40% rule caps a counted day at 2% of the account in Phase 2, so at least three profitable days are needed.
At least 5 trading days in each phase, so 10 in total. There is no maximum time limit, but an account with no trade for 30 days fails.
It gives more room: 10% maximum loss against 6%, and 5% daily against 4%. It takes longer and has a second phase, so it suits traders with deeper swings.
